Even though everyone dreams of going to space, only a few can actually do it, because it's one of the most expensive things a person can do. But, do you ever wonder how much it would cost to travel space? Take a look at the cost involved in a space journey.
2021 has been a year full of space travel where private companies have gained more than deserved prominence. Currently many companies are in a war to see who gets the biggest piece of this new market. The prices for going to space vary depending on the company we ask, but what is clear is that it will not be cheap. Prices range from $200,000 to $55 million, with the exception of trips into the stratosphere.
American mogul and former NASA engineer Dennis Tito was the first human to take a paid trip to space solely for pleasure in 2001, which is considered the first tourist trip. Tito paid some 20 million dollars to the Russian Federal Space Agency for the training, the trip and the stay in the International Space Station (ISS, for its acronym in English). These are the prices now in the different companies to travel to space:

World View
This company is the one with the most affordable prices, but beware: their cheapest tickets are for their balloon trip through the stratosphere, which amounts to $50,000. In its official statement, World View announced that it would provide flexible financing options to its customers.
Virgin Galactic
On July 11, 2021 billionaire Richard Branson became the first person to travel to space on a private flight with his company, Virgin Galactic. The American company announced that tickets for space travel will range from $450,000 for the cheapest to $600,000 for the most expensive, premium tickets that will also be used for scientific research.
Tickets to space now cost double what they did between 2005 and 2014 - between 200,000 and 250,000 dollars - when some 600 people reserved places on the Virgin ship. It is due to the success of fully crewed test flights last year, and the company losing $94 million in the second quarter of 2021 due to rising selling and overhead costs.
The company will offer three options: reserve a single seat, a package of more seats for couples, friends or family, and finally, buy all the seats on the ship.

Blue Origin

Space X
Elon Musk's company is the one with the most expensive prices on the market. A round trip to the International Space Station aboard the Dragon will cost a whopping $55 million. Only the richest pockets will be able to get a place on this ship.
Axiom
Axiom Space, one of the companies in charge of this new field, announced its first completely private mission to the International Space Station, which orbits the Earth. Designed for 2022, the Ax-1 will consist of 4 members and 3 of them will pay the large sum of 55 million dollars each to reach the conditioned module on the spacecraft.
